The Lady or the Tiger?

While I was reading this story, I mostly try to picture in my mind what I have just read to help me remember what I read. For example, in the frist paragraph that discribe about the king and the country that he lived, I imagine the picture in my mind of what that country look likes and what knid of person the king is. I do the same thing with almost al the paragraph in the story. I also underline the information or ideas in the text to help me remember it becuase in all of the paragraph there are some important informations that the readers need to know to understand the story better so I underlined it. For exaple, in the first paragraph I underlined the sentence "There was no escape from the king's judgment." I think that this information should be important for me to use in story and I could know that no one could escape from the king's judgement. So the pricess could not help her lover to escape from this judgement. She had to choose a choice that she thing it will be better than another one. I sometime use what I have read and understood in the text to help me understand better what I am reading in the same text. I think this one is also useful for me because we have to use the things we knowed from the text that we read to help me understand the text that i'm reading. Lastly, I think about what I know to help me understand what I read. I think the background knowledge also a good strategy to use in the story. You might had read the story like this before so you could imagine the picture in your head easier.

This story is about a king from a faraway country that had a princess who fell in love with a young man that the king did not like. The king sent him into the prison and he would sent to the arena for the judgement after that. He had to choose between two doors, one had a tiger and another one had a beautiful girl which he had to marry with if he open that door. The princess elped her lover by giving him a signal about what door she wanted him to choose on the day of the judgement. At last, he chose the door that the princess chose for him.

I think, the princess chose the door that had a the beautiful girl for her lover because I think that she might not want to see her lover died in front of her. Although her lover had to live with the others girl but at least he still alive so she could see him, and maybe he would have a happy life which is also good. Loving someone is not mean that you have to be with his or her, you just feel happy when you see the one you love happy.

I understand that underlining helps you to remember important information. How did this piece of information help you to infer what ws the princess' choice?
